community partners

The Mary Parrish Center is proud to partner with these organizations to help survivors of Interpersonal Violence rebuild their lives.

Dress for Success is a global not-for-profit organization that empowers women to achieve economic independence by providing a network of support, professional attire, and the development tools to help women thrive in work and life.  Since starting operations in 1997, Dress for Success has expanded to almost 150 cities in 25 countries and has helped more than 1.2 million women work towards self-sufficiency.

For almost two decades, Nashville-based Mother To Mother has been working to ensure impoverished children in our community have access to three basic essentials that often slip through the cracks of government subsidies and charitable support: diapers, car seats, and a safe place to sleep.

Safe at Home provides substitute addresses for residents who have fled interpersonal violence. Once a participant receives a Safe at Home address it may be used for all legal purposes including voter registration, access to assistance programs, school registration, and government services such as getting a driver's license. Safe at Home will also sort and repackage unopened mail and forward it to a home post office box or any other address specified by the participant.

We have partnered with Small World Yoga to provide residents of The Mary Parrish Center with free yoga classes once a month. Yoga supports stress management, mental health, and mindfulness. Plus attending classes can ease loneliness and provide an environment for group healing and support.

Soles4Souls helps get new shoes and clothing to people in crisis situations, freeing up financial resources they can use toward other needs.

While Strings for Hope utilizes secondhand musical strings to make jewelry, this program also provides second chances for survivors of addiction, interpersonal violence, and sex trafficking. Through employment as jewelry makers, survivors receive supplemental income and learn new job skills.

TenThirtyFive is an upscale thrift store that exists to allow women in need to be able to shop for free. They are welcomed in with a voucher to shop for clothing, shoes, accessories, and more. They will take home a bag of beauty care and hygiene products upon each visit.

Viable identifies the barriers between survivors and opportunity and helps them access markets and jobs they can’t reach on their own.
